Editorial policy

Figures and dates

Every note carries a publication date and, when revised, an update date. Dimensions, prices and lead times are ranges that were reasonable at that date. A number given without a range comes from a named standard or a manufacturer's data sheet.

Evidence over convention

Interior design carries a lot of received wisdom. A note states plainly when a common claim cannot be supported, and explains what can be measured instead. Where the studio's own practice differs from the usual advice, the note says that it is the studio's practice.

Independence

Alvari & Pers is paid by its clients, not by suppliers. No brand pays for a mention, a ranking or a link. Outbound links to suppliers and showrooms are editorial references chosen because the linked page answers the question at hand.

Authors

Notes are written by the studio and by contributors who work in design, joinery or lighting. The byline names the writer.

Corrections

Errors are corrected in the note and the update date changes. Write to [email protected] with the note title in the subject line.
